Still hidden in many processed foods
Years ago, the health dangers of trans fats were all over the news.
Packaged food manufacturers started labeling their products as “trans fat free” and restaurants put up signs saying that the no longer used trans fats. Many consumers got the impression that trans fats were no longer a concern.
The reality? Trans fats are found in many processed and restaurant foods. Labels can legally say “trans fat free” when a serving contains up to .5 grams of trans fat. So where are they hidden and what is the effect of trans fats in our diet?
