The culprit: High Fructose Corn Syrup

“One in ten calories consumed by Americans comes from high fructose corn syrup.”

This study did not look at the health impact of high fructose corn syrup itself, but at the levels of mercury in foods made with high fructose corn syrup.

One third of the products tested had detectable levels of mercury. In another study, one half of the high fructose corn syrup tested had detectable levels of mercury.
