Molasses: Surprising health benefits
Rich in minerals
Molasses is the thick syrup that remains after sugar is produced from either sugarcane or sugar beets.
Blackstrap molasses is high in potassium, iron, calcium, and magnesium, manganese and copper. It’s also said to be nourishing for the digestive tract, a remedy for fibroid tumors, and has even be credited with turning gray hair back to its original color.
Unsulphered blackstrap molasses is known to some as the most nourishing sweetener you can get, though it is still a processed food and source of simple carbohydrates.
