Some people are starting to wake up to this thanks to the situation in Maui.
Actually, manufactured emergencies as a way to steal property is a very old practice.
One of the biggest uses of this scam was so-called “Urban Renewal.”
Properties were declared health risks and were condemned. The properties all just happened to belong to people too poor to fight back and were sitting on prime real estate that developers and their criminal friends in government wanted.
