The myth: you need lots of protein, and vegetarians have a high risk of protein deficiency.
The reality: most people on typical Western diets get far too much protein. If you eat a variety of plant foods, you get plenty of protein.
The myth: milk is the best source of calcium.
The reality: leafy green vegetables are and those from the cabbage family are rich sources of calcium. 3/4 cup of collard greens contains more calcium than a cup of cow’s milk.
